I love decorating with natural textures and objects in a beach house. I think it gives a house personality, warmth and character. Things that are found or collected over time tell a story which gives a house soul. One of my favourites is collecting large seed pods like banksia pods then splashing a few drops of clove oil on them. A subtle, spicy scent lingers in the air for weeks at a time. I also love collections of shells, driftwood, river pebbles, beeswax candles and pine cones. What do you like collecting?

We have a very tall glass vase at home that I drop random found objects in from visits to our local islands. It's looking really good at the moment.

Melissah, love all the photos! Those lanterns look fabulous-so weathered and beachy. Thanks for sharing! I love collecting shells with small bits of driftwood. I also collect sea glass and have a huge glass bowl filled with the glass. Such fun!
I'm a shell collector! and anything else I have found on the beach...sponges, driftwood, seaglass.
I love the top picture with the rustic little ladder with necklaces hanging on it!
I love simple, natural style the best too!!! So very pretty!
I do have some very pretty soft pink and white shells I collected on a trip to the west coast (of Florida), I should get them out from where ever they are... hmmm... :)

I love collecting abandoned bird nests - particularly the ones made by gorgeous little sunbirds! So tiny and delicate but so architectural. ;)Sharyne
