This Portuguese coastal hideaway is very deceiving - rustic and traditional from the outside, set amidst rolling hills and vineyards it belies it's fresh faced, modern interior. On the inside it is white and pristine with a complimentary accents in summer blues and fresh lime. The lines are clean and architectural with subtle references back to it's former life in the form of traditional tiles, recycled timber doors and the trussed roof. It's a clever mix of preserving the old but giving it an entirely new twist. Pergolas provide cooling shade and drip with grapes just waiting to be pressed into a tangy, local wine. The table is set for a leisurely lunch and the pool is perfect for a cool dip in the hot afternoon sun. Little is needed for a holiday of this nature - summer whites, a few colourful accessories, a big pair of sunnies and a straw hat for lounging by the pool!
