Call Of The Sea

I have just spent a couple of fantastic days with my husband having a little mini-break on the other side of the coast. There is a small pennisula there called 'Portsea' with some amazing Hamptons style properties. This little pocket of real estate has some of the most expensive properties in Australia so there are some spectacular houses to look at. We had two days of perfect weather so we spent the time walking along beautiful rugged beaches, looking at these gorgeous homes and shopping. We decided to give the house a bit of a re-vamp after seven years to freshen things up, this included having some artwork commissioned by a local artist. She makes gorgeous shell studies - they are very simple and very stylish - usually white and cream with shells of one type on mass. I have had my eye on them for years - it was just a case of saving my pennies!  Very soon, three of her amazing pieces will grace our walls.

Sounds like a lovely time. I like mini vacations best! I hope to spend a few days in Seaside(Monterey and Carmel) for my birthday next month.

definitely sounds like a perfect weekend. You've inspired me to visit the rugged beaches by Carmel not too far from me. I think I hear the Sea Calling me!
