My little coastal town is buzzing with happy, holiday makers. Decks are full of friends laughing, drinking and eating, kids are riding skateboards and bikes up and down the streets, dogs are barking and chasing the kids and the smell of barbeques permeates the air. It's a great feeling - everyone is relaxed and carefree. The real estate is expensive but most of the homes are holiday houses and they are pretty run down, neglected and weather beaten but that's part of their Aussie beach charm - they promise a fun, low key family holiday full of adventure!

I love laid back holiday towns in Australia - I used to love going to Lorne, and staying at one of the cabins in one of the caravan parks - I used to go there quite regularly when I lived in Melbourne.
That first room looks like the epitomy of a casual happy holiday home. Love the bold colours and relaxed feel. Makes me wish I was on holidays right now!
How lovely, and I particularly covet the stripey lightshades - very crisp and clean.

It's what I love about beach living, it's fun, casual and can be a bit formal if you wish! love the vintage looking oars. I have been on the lookout for a pair and an old surfboard.
