Straight from Mother Nature
The foods you eat shouldn't be dictated by whether the make you fat or thin,
but by the goodness you get out of each bite.
I always try to eat produce that is season.
I buy organic fruit and vegetables whenever possible.
When it comes down to eat, if it's recently fallen from the tree or plucked from the ground,
I know it's better for me and my family.

I've always loved the coastal shack look. My favourite beach houses are those with character - where the timber is weathered and the paintwork is on the flakey side. I like houses filled with vintage pieces, interesting finds, worn timber and collections of sea treasures.

The weekend has finally arrived .... and I am looking forward to :-
breakfast on the deck with the Sunday papers
homemade pizzas on Saturday night
long walks on the beach
a Sunday drive down the coast
and lighting the fire for the first time this year.

Sometimes you just have to let the view have all the attention! Surrendering to the sea and mountains this house is stunningly located on top of a hillside just outside the windows, this colour scheme is simply perfect in a soothing white and sandy beige for this seaside escape on the dreamy island of Mustique. I love the uplifting splashes of pink in the accessories to add a sense of fun - perfectly co-ordinated with the pink frangipani when it blossoms in the tropical garden. That pool looks like the perfect place for this Pucci kaftan - all one needs is a strawberry dacquirri to set the scene!

Navy and white stripes are so effortlessly stylish and at home in a coastal setting.
To me, they epitomise the coastal chic look so perfectly.
Blues and whites always feel so fresh and summery.
They look casual and relaxed in any decor scheme
especially when combined with rustic timbers
and battered collections of coastal treasures.

With fluorescent colours making such a strong appearance on the pages of fashion blogs and magazines I wondered how it could translate into a coastal lifestyle and came up with a few bright ideas on how to inject a little extra colour into our lives! Enjoy!

I have been a little over indulgent in the 'treats' department this weekend. It was a bit of a 'foodie' weekend with a fabulous night out at a new local restaurant, homemade pizzas loaded up with cheese and some home baked goodies too tempting to resist. So I am starting off the week on the right foot and kick starting it with plenty of fruit, fresh vegies and healthy salads.

I love collections of vintage bottles. I love their worn, aged appeal. They make fantastic vases for single blooms or they look great simply displayed on a shelf catching the light and adding character and personality to a vignette. Here both the bottles and their translucent green colouring offers inspiration to these decor schemes.
