I think that lighting is often neglected or overlooked when decorating a house. Sure downlights serve their purpose but for entries, stair landings, dining rooms, kitchens and living spaces there should be some consideration put into an interesting pendant/s. There are so many fabulous fittings out there for beach houses that it would be shame not to take advantage of it. My favourite place for feature lighting is Hermon and Hermon in Melbourne. They have an amazing selection of organic, earthy and textured pendants that really make a statement and compliment coastal furnishings and decor. I bought the 'twiggy, beachy' one above that reminds me of a bird's nest. It is now proudly hanging over the dining table and it never fails to get a compliment.
