My Beach House - The New Deck

During the weekends, the beach below and the sky above
is busy with surfers, helicopters, Tigermoth airplanes,
ships, yachts, kids swimming and boogie boarding.

We always have the binoculars on hand in case we catch a glimpse of migrating whales.

When we bought the house  the deck looked like this.

It was falling to bits and in desperate need of repair.
The seat around the edge was totally rotten
as were the decking boards.
The handrail didn't meet the regulations,
so we decided to demolish the whole thing and start again.
With Spotted Gum decking and a new Hampton's style hand rail
it is now the perfect place for lunch in the sunshine
or fish and chips on a balmy evening!

Our new look deck

We have been busy chopping trees and trimming branches
so even the view has improved immensely.

Oh Melissah, you´ve done a good job on the deck! The white balustrade is so much better than the old one. And the big table for the dinner outside. It looks so comfortable and breezy. Wow. And the view is everything. To me it looks kind of incredible that there´re places like yours with the sea just around the corner. Really beautiful! Wish you hundreds of sunny days and romantic night dinners with your hubby on your new deck ;)
