Sydney Beachside Apartment

Sydney creative Jessie James gives her beachside apartment the feminine touch
with an all-white palette and pared back details.

When it comes to decorating small spaces you need to work it a little harder to create a light filled home that appears bright, open and spacious. Keeping furniture to a smaller scale and having an eye for detail will help to maximise a small space. It's also a good idea to use furniture that serves a dual purpose - e.g. a sofa becomes a guest bed and try to keep window furnishings to a minimum in order to let in as much natural light as possible.

This one bedroom apartment in Manly is a wonderful example of what you can do with a small space proving that style and creativity do not need to compromised, even if the space is. This apartment, not only possesses a fabulous view, but is full of beautiful things such as the Moroccan wedding blanket, Balinese tin boxes and one-off vintage pieces

The apartment looks surprisingly spacious! A lot bigger than I would have expected. Read somewhere that units near here are more like pods and you need a self storage unit to keep all your extra things. Perfect for a getaway though!

White and khaki are such beach colours. I can see that it definitely ties the whole apartment together well!
