Inspiration for a design scheme can come from the most unexpected place
~ a favourite restaurant, a hotel, a shop, just about anything!

This light filled Victorian home is in inner city Melbourne yet it has many elements that would work beautifully in a beach house including the lime washed floorboards, the blonde timber joinery, the open bookshelves in the living area and kitchen. A Victorian terrace is not the kind of home you would expect to find such inspiring ideas for a beach house. The freestanding bath tub and the white painted stool would also look great in a coastal retreat. The soft and understated neutral colour palate of white and grey compliments the use of pale oak timber and gives this residence a Scandinavian feel. The pop of sunny yellow also works a treat!
