Sun Protection

Because I live by the beach - I need to be 100% diligent in protecting my skin from the harsh Australian sun.
And it's just not by face but my hands and chest are also sensitive to sun damage.

So here are few handy tips I have discovered along the way....

DON'T RELY ON MAKE-UP FOR PROTECTION...

Never rely on your make-up to protect your face with SPF from the sun ...
While it may be tempting to skip the sunscreen step in your morning beauty routine when the letters 'SPF' are written on every bottle you're picking up - don't!
Take the time to apply a non-greasy, SPF factor 15 or higher as a base to your make-up to truly protect your skin.

PICK A SUNSCREEN THAT DOES THE JOB

One sun care brand that has got all rays covered is 'Invisible Zinc' - it protects the skin from damaging UVA (responsible for sunburn and skin cancers) and UVB (responsible for ageing and skin cancer) rays using Zinc Oxide. Gone are the days of the thick old-fashioned zinc we wore as kids. It's now lightweight, invisible and doesn't clog up your skin. It is perfect to wear every day!

WEAR A SENSIBLE HAT

Choose a wide brimmed hat to protect your face, scalp and neck from harmful UV rays.
It will also protect you hair from the sun.
It's also a great solution for those bad hair days -
just throw on a stylish straw hat ... too easy!
