White House in Norway

Crisp, bright and light Nordic Style

Let’s finish the week with something bright and simple.
This house in Norway is charming mix of wood, concrete, modern design and vintage pieces.
A wonderfully individual collection of styles and furniture ~
all pulled together on a tight budget.
The colour palette is typically Scandinavian in white, black and grey.
Timber benchtops, floorboards, furniture and the DIY headboard
break up the monochromatic palette and add warmth and character.

Fashion Editorial | Summer Days

Jungle fever by Coastal Style Blog

Tropical prints and bold summer colours ....

I love the colours in this little editorial... and that gorgeous vintage car is to die for!

I'm not sure what I'm more excited about ~ the car or the fashion!
I'm thinking that little sportscar would look fantastic parked in my driveway!

Beach Shack Style

Beach house cool by Coastal Style Blog

Back to basics - the humble beach shack

I like to keep my life simple,
so for me the perfect solution to a beach house is the humble beach shack.
Practical, fuss-free, low maintenance and no frills.
I like the idea of rustic pieces mixed with hand-me-downs,
vintage finds and second hand bargains.
Add some eco-friendly timber floorboards,
handcrafted rugs and a healthy dose of stylish details
and you will have yourself a one-of-a-kind beach house
filled with love and pieces that tell a story.

Hamptons Chic in Chocolate & White

Chic in Chocolate by Coastal Style Blog

Re-create this chic Hamptons style by contrasting crisp white with warm chocolate tones.

Rich, dark colours really make the white pop.
It's an elegant, understated look that works well with
exposed timber beams, recycled floorboards and more traditional decor and architecture.
You could combine it with some of the season's hottest equestrian trends
like framed horse prints and a Hermes blanket.
Don't forget to leave your riding boots strategically lying around the place!!!

White & Blush

A hint of pink by Coastal Style Blog

Pretty Pastels

Still-popular sorbet pastels are making an even stronger statement this season.

Fresh and modern they are appearing not just on the catwalks and in fashion magazines
but modern day pastels are infiltrating our homes and
infusing them with a prettiness that we haven't seen in a long time.
I love pink, peach, mint and aqua with a passion
so I am really embracing this gorgeous trend.
My only warning is don't overindulge -
keep pastels to accents and accessories and
pare them back with white and neutrals to keep it sophisticated and grown up.
