A weekend escape in Greenport
American Beech has caught my eye with it's low key, stylish interior.
Opened in August 2015, this five-bedroom hotel sits in the quaint town of Greenport, NY, just one short ferry ride north of Shelter Island. Traditionally a seafarer’s destination, the region is lined with vineyards. The North Fork of Long Island just may become the next hot spot, thanks to Brent Pelton, a Manhattan Lawyer with a vision. He revamped the property with the help of interior design firm BHDM. The aesthetic is nautical seaside, but with modern, understated feel.
Frette linens, striped floors, rope accents, and Montauk Summer Ale behind the bar… this place has everything to tug at summer weekenders' heartstrings. The hotel also boasts a chic looking restaurant which is open for dinner and brunch and is home to some of the most delectable, finger licking fried chicken, according to the New York Times. Just the thought of it is making me hungry!
With Montauk getting so crowded over the summer months, this quiet haven may be worth a try!
