A Cape Cod Style Home in Queensland

Grand proportions, Georgian symmetry, weatherboards, natural stone features and white accents are some of the trademark features of Cape Cod style, and although the traditional Cape Cod design of colonial America has certainly evolved from its 17th century beginnings, the distinctive characteristics of this style are instantly recognisable and have been embraced in Australian coastal design.

Homeowners, Cindy and Glenn wanted to re-create this look with a family home that would boast all the features and character of Cindy’s homeland. The couple teamed up with Architect, Harry Poulos and Interior Designers Highgate House, to create their American style dream home.

The end result is a home that is grand in scale and undeniably stylishly elegant. Soaring ceilings, a double sided stone fireplace, a generously-sized kitchen, a huge ensuite and pendant lights sourced from the US are a few of it's standout features. Bespoke furniture, teamed with luxurious materials and meticulous attention to detail and finishes, make this home so special. While the home is loaded with refined character and elegance, it is a warm, welcoming and liveable family home.
