Dream House with Aqua Accents | Part 2

Relaxed Style

Relaxed Beach Style

Today's post is a continuation of yesterday's stunning home tour.
One of my favourite elements of this home are the picture perfect vignettes ~ natural corals and glass vessels sit beside textured, earthy ceramics and designer tomes. Art sourced from Signature on Hastings in Noosa includes contemporary abstract paintings by local artist Isabel Lawrence alongside shell studies by Jos Law and intricate etchings by Robyn Rayner. My home also features a few pieces of Jos Law's shell art which I love. If you are lucky enough to visit Noosa pop into 'Signature on Hastings' it is a treasure trove of beautiful things for beach house decorating. I am like a kid in a candy store in that shop!
Other enviable elements are the hand stained, limewashed American Oak floorboards, the lush tropical garden, the huge backyard for their kids to run around in and the veggie patch. Kate's four boys make good use of the pool and oversized garden. Kate loves nothing more than to sit in the garden on a Adirondack chair, cool drink in hand, watching the boys play games, swim and run free. It’s a home that has captured that sought after Gold Coast lifestyle – a beautiful escape where both parents and kids have the space to laugh, play and relax.

Dream House with Aqua Accents | Part 1

Beach House Charm

A Gold Coast family built their dream home, combining classic Cape Cod style
with stunning architectural elements just made for relaxed living.

I have featured this house before but it's absolutely one of my favourite homes so when I discovered some more photos I just had to share them with you. Not only do I adore the architecture and the coastal colour palette but I also love the attention to detail and the beautiful styling.

A Queensland couple, engaged architect Bayden Goddard of BGD Architects to design them a new home that embraced both their family needs and their lifestyle. The owner, Kate, is a talented interior designer with her own business, Cove Interiors. Kate injected a relaxed coastal-inspired style into the interior that would highlight the home’s impressive indoor / outdoor design.  Kate was inspired by designers like India Hicks, she wanted a bit of a colonial, Caribbean feel – almost like Cape Cod meets Noosa.
Airy and open, the home was designed to complement its leafy Southport address. The architect interpreted the Cape Cod meets Noosa direction as a mix of Australian beach style with Hamptons architectural influences. The aim was to not mimic a style but to find a blend of styles to create something new and fresh with it's own personality. The result is a home with a modern, open plan footprint, quality finishes and pared back details. Some of the standout features are the soaring ceilings, the views from the living spaces out over the pool and pool pavilion beyond and the lounge room fireplace for chilly nights. Two impressive twisted driftwood chandeliers from Hermon &  Hermon dominate the open plan area. A stripped back colour palette of powder blues and sea greens mixed with the rustic touches of timber and stone make this a first class Aussie beach house.
For the second part of this home tour, check out tomorrow's post.

Shades of Aqua, Turquoise & Yellow

A 'beachy' colour combination

I have always been a huge fan of aqua and turquoise as accent colours for a beach house
but why not give these popular colours a new twist
by addng some zesty yellow to freshen things up a bit.
It's happy and uplifting colour combination that sings summer and good times!

Hamptons Elegance

Classic Hamptons

Loving these glamourously chic Hamptons interiors.
Even though they are completely different they all have a number of common features :~
they are all bathed in natural light,
the colour palettes are based on white and pale neutrals
they all feature fabulous light fittings
all the joinery doors are detailed
and the attention detail is just beautiful.

A Beachside Home in Alicante, Spain

Relaxed Mediterranean Style

This light and airy beachside home in Alicante, Spain, has the most stunning views over the Mediterranean sea. The house, which dates from the 1950s, has been renovated respecting the local, coastal building traditions. Architectural elements such as ceilings, beams, floor and windows were maintained while the indoor areas got a fresh new look. The owner, interior designer Jessica Bataille, has beautifully decorated the house with natural materials and rustic style furniture. The decor is simple yet cosy. Plenty of white combined with a bright accents gives a fresh feel to this charmingly quaint beach shack.
